HELP ADVANCE EVIDENCE-BASED POLICY INNOVATIONS
The Scientific Citizenship Initiative (SCi) is seeking passionate and experienced leaders to join the Advisory Board for the Massachusetts Science and Technology Policy Fellowship (MASTPF). This is an extraordinary opportunity to guide a transformative program that integrates scientific expertise into state policymaking to address Massachusetts’ most pressing challenges.
WHAT IS THE MASTPF ADVISORY BOARD?
The MASTPF Advisory Board will serve as a key leadership body, providing strategic oversight, fostering partnerships, and helping to launch the first cohort of MASTPF fellows in 2026. Modeled after a nonprofit governing board, this group will:
- Shape the vision, goals, and long-term strategy of the MASTPF program.
- Oversee fundraising and development initiatives to secure sustainable funding.
- Build connections with key stakeholders to promote the program’s mission and foster broader support for its goals.
- Collaborate on recruitment and outreach efforts to ensure the program’s success.
- Monitor program impact and evaluation to maintain alignment with strategic goals.
The board will meet monthly beginning in February 2025 and play a pivotal role in establishing the program’s foundation.

FAQ
1. What is the time commitment for board members?
The Advisory Board will meet monthly starting in February 2025. Additional tasks, such as fundraising or outreach, may require a few additional hours per month.
2. Is this a paid position?
Currently, this is a volunteer role. While stipends are not available at this time, our goal is to secure funding to provide stipends once the program is fully launched. We recognize that the absence of stipends can create barriers to participation, limit equitable access to this opportunity, and impact our ability to support a diverse team. We are committed to addressing this as we raise the necessary resources to support both the program and its advisory board members.
3. Can I nominate someone anonymously?
While we encourage transparency, anonymous nominations will be considered if sufficient contact information is provided.
